ActivEye® and Digatron, Inc. Selected by CO State Capitol for
Video Analytics
Briarcliff Manor, New York — November 4, 2005 ActivEye, a leading provider of video content analysis software, and Digatron, Inc., an electronic security systems consultant, designer, integrator, and a certified ActivEye partner today announced the successful installation of Active Alert® video analytics software at the CO State Capitol and related buildings. Active Alert® software enhances the effectiveness of CCTV surveillance by automatically detecting and tracking behaviors and events that may pose a threat to property or personnel. After surveying and testing video analytics software from multiple vendors, the Colorado State Patrol, which administers security for the Capitol and other state facilities, selected Active Alert® as the most effective product to provide the required functionality. In a two-week long competitive test Active Alert® software recorded 193,000 detections, and generated 745 genuine alerts that violated rules established for the test. No false alarms were generated from environmental changes such as continual headlight reflections from marble walls, severe day to night lighting changes, birds and squirrels. Even a brief heavy snowfall did not generate alarms. Active Alert offers the most feature-rich solutions in the industry, providing users with more than 35 tools to automate CCTV detection of suspicious events or behaviors that are potentially threatening or may be precursors to serious incidents. The new systems deployed in Colorado alert command center operators in real time when events occur and eliminate the need for them to continually watch each camera view. This enables them to deliver a far higher degree of video security and faster detection of incidents with no added manpower.
